Cheesy Garlic Sticks/Sopapilla Cheesecake
Wednesday, August 17, 2011
Two things are pretty obvious.
My whole 'post every weekday' plan didn't pan out, and there has been some major blog overhaul. The blog has a new name and a new look. Hopefully these changes are all for the better :)
Yesterday, I tried a recipe for crock pot macaroni and cheese that I found on Pinterest. It ended up being a hot mess, mostly because the noodles ended up mushy. I'm pretty sure I cooked them too much before throwing them in the pot (the recipe said to cook them a few minutes first). The cheese sauce tasted good, but Tom deemed it inedible, so I threw it out.
Today I decided to tackle a couple of more recipes I found on Pinterest, and I ended up with MUCH better results.
These cheesy garlic sticks looked delicious, and like they'd be easy to throw together. They were hot and tasty. Tom loved them, I loved them and we're definitely having them in the future.
Ingredients
I have a big sweet tooth, and I love to bake. I came across a recipe for Sopapilla Cheesecake, and thought it sounded easy and delicious (it's both!). They ended up tasting kind of like Pizza Hut's cinnamon breadsticks if they had cream cheese frosting in the middle.

Ingredients
-1 pizza dough (I used canned, because I was feeling lazy, but you could make your own or buy one from some place like Papa Murphy's)
-olive oil
-1 ball of vacuum-packed mozzarella (my grocery store only had the mozzarella pearls in at the time, and they worked out pretty nicely)
-minced garlic in oil (like McCormick California Style Minced Garlic)
-Italian seasoning
Directions
-Put the dough on a pizza pan and brush with olive oil. I stretched my dough into a square so all the sticks would be the same size, but a circle works just as well.
-Cut or pull apart the cheese with your fingers and spread over dough. Since I used the mozzarella pearls I just kind of arranged them on the dough a little bit apart from each other.
-Drizzle with some of the garlic oil from the minced garlic, and sprinkle some garlic over the dough. Sprinkle on some Italian seasoning
-Bake according to the directions on the pizza dough
