Dog Biscuits and Doughnuts

Monday, October 24, 2011

The other day I made dog biscuits for Archie. I used this recipe from Come On, Ilene!. I used a little gingerbread cookie cutter (I only have Christmas cookie cutters), so it's like he's a giant dog preying on people. They turned out pretty well, and he gobbles them up. I think next time I might try replacing the beef broth and bullion with chicken, because he LOVES chicken.

Isn't he handsome? :)

I also tried my hand at biscuit dough doughnuts the other night. I didn't have biscuit dough, so I used crescent rolls instead. I separated a tube into two sets of four triangles, and folded them into two rectangles, sealing all seams and edges. I cut little holes out with a soda cap. I pan fried the doughnuts and holes in canola oil, and dusted with powdered sugar when they were done. They were yummy :)

The only issue was that the oil was too hot for the last few, and the insides didn't cook, so I threw them out.

They were really easy to make, and really yummy. They're definitely something I'll make again :)
