Our family has some big news.

We're trading this

That's right...we're moving to Tampa!

Tom got a job doing something he's always wanted to do, and it's taking us to Florida. He got a call today confirming everything, and he starts in the middle of March.

We're really excited, because this move is going to change a lot of things for us. We're going to be a lot better off financially, which means we'll be much more financially prepared for a baby. I won't have to work retail anymore (thank goodness, because work is getting ridiculous. Me being the only person in toys in the days leading up to Christmas? Not so good). Tom will be doing something he actually loves, which is probably the best part; he's been wasting his talent and creativity working menial jobs just trying to pay the bills, so I'm thrilled that he gets to do something he's passionate about. I think Archie will enjoy it too...he's not really into the cold we have here in Indiana (then again, neither am'll be nice living in a warm climate).

It will be a big change, of course. We'll be 1,000 miles away from our families (not that I get to see my family often anyway), and we only know one person down in Tampa. Neither one of us has ever lived outside of Indiana. It'll be weird having to make friends all over again (which we all know isn't really easy when you're an adult). Tom will be working a lot, so we won't get to see each other as much, but I know we'll make do.

I'm really excited to be seeing more of the country. I've never been to Florida (with the exception of Miami International Airport), and we'll be driving through Georgia (which I've also never been to) on the way down. I'm really excited to live near the ocean; the only time I've ever been to the ocean was when I was on a mission trip in Haiti when I was 21.

The move will be good for the blog too...I'll have more time, money and space for projects (like FINALLY getting around to making some of those Ana White plans from my ever-popular Furniture Frenzy post). It's just going to be good things all around.
