Exercise Equipment

Week one of exercising went pretty well, but I did find the first week of C25K to be a little more difficult than I anticipated.  My friend Jess (you remember her, right?  The June Blogger of the Month?) introduced me to this plan.  It takes things a little slower, which is good for me, because I'm crazy out of shape (like, really.  It's bad).  So that starts today :)

With exercise on the mind, I thought today's Must-Have Monday should feature some exercise equipment I'd love to have.

-LIVESTRONG LS8.0T Treadmill - $799.99 - Dick's Sporting Goods
I love several things about this treadmill.  It's not completely black (I do LOVE a good pop of color!), it has built in iPod speakers, it has 10 built-in training programs, there's a fan, and it helps benefit Lance Armstrong's cancer charity.  I would LOVE to have my own treadmill.   All the sidewalks here are really uneven, and I've almost fallen a few times.

 -Wii Fit Plus Bundle - $84.75 - O.co
Tom and I have both wanted to get the Wii Fit for awhile now (both my parents have it, my grandparents have it, his sister has it...we've both used it and loved it).  We'll get one eventually.  We love the Wii Fit because it makes exercising a little more fun (and I LOVE that they have Rhythm Parade, a marching game...it appeals to the band geek in me :).

-Manduka Black Mat Pro - $94 - Manduka.com
I had a nice Gaiam yoga mat, but I got rid of it when we were purging to move to Florida, thinking I'd just replace it when we got there.  Well, I'm regretting that now, and it has yet to be replaced (and doing yoga on a towel is just not the same).  In a perfect world, I would totally get this mat.  It's super thick, nonslip and has a lifetime guarantee.  People RAVE about it.  That being said, I can't ever actually see myself spending $100 on a yoga mat.

-Zumba Fitness: Join the Party - $35.99 - Target
I know a ton of people who do Zumba and love it.  I, however, have a fear of working out in front of people (I won't even work out in front of Tom...I need to get over it, I know, but it's more difficult than it seems).  This Wii game would be a good introduction for me, and I could do it in the privacy of my own home, which is my favorite kind of working out.

As evidenced by yesterday's Scavenger Hunt Sunday, I really need some running shoes.  I've been craving a pair of Pumas for awhile, because I think they're super stylish for running shoes (and I'm nothing if not a sucker for a cute pair of shoes).  I love the look of these, and I think the colors are great (I am a fan of green).  They're lightweight and built for comfort, and I think those are both important things when it comes to a running shoe.

Don't forget to vote!

  1. I totally understand the thing about not wanting to work out in front of people. I prefer going to the gym when there's no one there and exercising at home when no one is home...

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I read and respond to each and every one. Thank you so much!
