Scavenger Hunt Sunday - June 17, 2012
Sunday, June 17, 2012This week's prompts were HARD. I spent such a long time thinking of how to capture them. I'm hoping I did okay!
Linked up with Ramblings and Photos, as usual.
So, anyway, you met me at the corner.
Lame interpretation, perhaps, but I didn't get to take a pic of the wind farms like I wanted to.
Getting healthy isn't easy, but you get there one step at a time :)
Meet Me at the Corner
I thought about going with the obvious street sign/intersection thing (which actually might be mildly entertaining, since our street sign was turned by some hoodlums), but I thought I might go a little more literal. This is the corner of my bedside table (which is really a TV tray, but eh bien). You're getting to know a little more about me in this picture. So you're meeting ME at the CORNER. Get it? No?
Anyway...I drink water like a fish, so I always have a bottle near me at all times. My thermometer is there to record my BBT in the morning. My Flintstones vitamins (which I no longer like as an adult, though I loved them as a teen)...I'll be switching back to gummies when I run out. The remote, which I used to turn on Psych, which is on as I write this :) In the hot mess in the background is a roll of toilet paper, because I have allergies and I cry at everything (I really do...I cried at a freaking yogurt commercial today. That's bad even for me). To the right is a little rainbow of color, comprised of my pinking shears, a birthday card envelope and a flier for a vaudeville show. On the very right is a random Hobby Lobby sack. I'm not sure why it's there.
So, anyway, you met me at the corner.
Mother Nature Meets Technology
Electricity (aka technology) allowed me to take a picture of these pansies petunias (aka nature) at night as the porch light shone on them.
Lame interpretation, perhaps, but I didn't get to take a pic of the wind farms like I wanted to.
One Step At A Time
As you can probably tell from some of my recent blog posts, I've been making an effort to be healthier by working out and eating better. Sweets are my major downfall. My body is always like 'MUST...HAVE...CHEESECAKE...MUST...HAVE...BROWNIES...', etc. Lately, when the sugar has been calling me, I've been trying to answer it with a bowl of bran flakes with fruit (this week I've done bananas, blueberries and blackberries). I LOVE bran flakes, especially with fruit, so this has been a good way for me to handle my sugar cravings.
Getting healthy isn't easy, but you get there one step at a time :)
What's Wrong With This Picture
That red thing under the tree? That would be The Sexy Ninja, a masked wrestler who wrestled at the Mosey Down Main Street last month (yes, this is a vintage picture...it just cracks me up, so I wanted to use it). This picture may not be as funny to you as it is to me, because I know who's under the mask. I just think wrong can also mean out-of-place, and he is definitely out of place creepin' around in a mask.
Standing Tall
Well he's not really standing, but Archie is lording over his domain from his perch on his chair. He was standing, but Tom walked in as I was taking the picture and Archie got all excited and ran to him. Archie's not a very tall dog (he is 1/2 Dachshund and 1/4 Basset Hound, after all), so this is as tall as he gets.

These are great - the cereal pic is making me want breakfast!
ReplyDeleteNice set. It was fun to learn some things about you from your Meet Me at the Corner Shot.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites were: Standing Tall and your Mother Nature Meets Technology. (By the way the flowers are Petunias)
Thanks! I'm bad with the names of flowers I don't particularly like, lol.
DeleteGreat job with the prompts. Good luck in the healthy lifestyle
ReplyDeleteI just have to say that I love your interpretation of "Meet Me at the Corner". :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you think so. I felt like it was kind of a cop-out, but I'm happy other people don't see it that way :)
DeleteAt first glance it seemed obvious that what was wrong were the two cars parked in opposite directions. Love the Ninja dude! Being creative with the prompts is what it's all about (Meet Me at the Corner). Good job, and thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteLol, I didn't even notice that! Thanks for pointing that out :)
DeleteGood job! I really like the cereal photo, but that would never satisfy my craving for sweets! I will have t try a little harder now. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteSometimes when I don't have fruit, I drizzle it with honey. It's sweeter, but I like it better with fruit.
I think this week was FREAKIN' hard!!!!!!! But you did fantastic. I like the creativity of your "meet me on the corner".
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I totally agree...when I first saw the prompts, I seriously considered skipping this week. They kind of terrified me.
DeleteOne step at a time looks really yummy.
ReplyDeleteIt was :)
