Cute (But Not Creepy) Halloween Treats

Thursday, October 25, 2012

I may not have any kids of my own yet, but working with toddlers always keeps me mindful of things that are appropriate for them.  Halloween, as fun as it is, can be terrifying for young kids (just ask my youngest brother...he's always been terrified of people in costumes).  The good thing about Halloween is that the traditional characters (witches, ghosts, vampires, and the like) can be made as cute or as scary as you want. Here are some super cute Halloween treats that won't be too scary for the littles :)

These little marshmallow cupcakes from Julie Yoon are super cute (I'm especially digging the little Frankenstein!)

These little ghost cakes from Parenting are more Charlie Brown than The Sixth Sense.

You might actually be able to get a kid to try spinach dip when it's in Kraft's adorable mummy!

A Turtle's Life For Me shows how a simple Sharpie can transform a snack! (Plus you could try pistachio pudding for those tots with more adventurous palates!)

How completely adorbs are these ghostly milk shooters from The Family Kitchen?

This Boo Scotti from Land O Lakes is a perfect post-trick-or-treating snack with a mug of hot cocoa.

Kids can help make these sweet little marshmallow witches from Taste of Home.

How cute are these mummy cookie pops from The Decorated Cookie?

Or these super easy bat pops (made from Oreo Cakesters!), also from The Decorated Cookie?

I seriously can't wait until I have an excuse to do stuff like this (my preschool doesn't celebrate Halloween, so my kiddos are a no-go).
