Pit & Peak

Pit
-Good gravy, my preschoolers were CRAZY this week (well, I take that back -- they were GREAT on our field trip Tuesday, and then crazy the rest of the week). Granted, we had a sub in there this week since my co-teacher is visiting her family in Puerto Rico, but still. I'm hoping things are better next week.
-I had a raging sinus infection, and then Tom got sick.
-I haven't had as much time as I'd like for blog things (I'm SOOO behind on my blog reading :/).
-I've had hardly any sleep. I'm tired all the time, and it's even gotten to the point where I've had super obvious, looks-like-I-got-punched-in-the-face dark circles under my eyes. I feel like I need to just sleep for three days straight.
Peak
-I feel like I've gotten a real go-getter attitude this week. My new mantra is stop dreaming and start doing, and this is my year of doing. I am gettin' it DONE!
-I finally started painting our living room (I'm planning to finish this weekend, and hopefully have a reveal post for you next week!)
-I filled out my FAFSA. I left college after 4 semesters in 2007, and it's time to finish what I started.
-I've been really trying to up my teaching game lately, and I feel like it's showing. The kids have been really interested in what we've been doing.
-I took the plunge and started looking for photography models to build a portfolio. Photography has been one of my favorite hobbies since I got my first camera almost twenty years ago, and I'd like to really hone my skills. (Note: I'm now shooting an engagement session next month! So stoked!)
-I had another period (a much more humane one this time), so that makes three in a row! I think it's safe to say that for the first time in 2.5 years, I finally have a regular period again :)
Lots of peaks this week, but I've been really excited about a lot of things!

- This was also the week I decided to make big changes! :) Get it girl!
ReplyDelete- Congrats on going back to school. You can do it! I actually miss college so badly. I want a master's degree but can't justify anymore student loan debt.
- You ever wanna try your hand at photographing animals... I'll volunteer my pack! ;)
Yay for change! Let's rock it! (And I might take you up on your dogs, lol).
DeleteAfter I left CHS, I worked in my school's library. The librarian's mom is pretty much a career student. She's in her 60s and 70s and just keeps going back for more degrees. When I was still in high school, I think she was up to two doctorates, four masters, and seven bachelors.
LOTS of big changes! I love it. I'm sitting here drinking a shake for my weight loss program Shaklee180 and it's not my favorite but it's a start in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up girl!
Little steps cover a lot of ground! You can do it!
DeleteYou'll have to blog about how Shaklee goes. I've heard some good things about it.
OMG, I remember FASFA. It was hell. Going back to school is awesome. I will be sending you good thoughts!

Thank you! I actually found filling out the FAFSA to be better this time, now that I'm no longer considered a dependent. It was ridiculous to be 22, living with my fiance, and having to get my dad's information the last time I filled it out, lol.
DeleteYou calling a period a peak sure shows us in a different stage. I'd cry if I got one after my hysterectomy.

Getting a period is always a peak for me too! So glad we are in the same boat with that.
ReplyDeleteReading about other people's accomplishments and goals makes me motivated to start fulfilling my own.
