Introducing...The Pinterest Fitness Challenge!

Pinterest challenges are certainly nothing new on the internet. Heck, I myself participated in the YHL Summer Pinterest Challenge last year (with less-than-stellar results). Basically, you just picked something you had pinned and made it.

But I wanted to do something a little different.

Instead of doing a crafty kind of Pinterest challenge, I thought it would be a good idea to do a fitness Pinterest challenge.

Let's be honest here, most of us pin a gazillion health and fitness pins, and then proceed to do none of them. So let's change that!

This challenge is going to run from June 1-21. There are two reasons for this. I'm going to be gone at the end of the month, and they say it takes 21 days to form a habit, so I figured that would be perfect :)

So how is this going to work?

This Friday, I'll be hosting a special Pinterest Fitness Challenge link party. If you'd like to participate, pick your challenge in the next couple of days, blog about it, and link up so we can help support you!

To provide further support (as well as help create a sense of community within the challenge) I've created a Facebook group for the Challenge. If you don't have Facebook or would prefer not to join the group, no worries! There are plenty of other ways to support and be supported!

If you use Twitter or Instagram to talk about the challenge, please use the hashtag #PinterFit so I can find your tweets/instagrams easier! (And yeah, #PinterFit is kind of dumb, but I figured it serves its purpose well).

I've also created a group Pinterest board to pin posts and inspirations. If you'd like to be able to pin to that board, let me know your Pinterest name (or email) so I can add you!

So what am I doing for the Pinterest Fitness Challenge?

Well, a few things actually.

1.) I'm going to use this handy Post-It workout countdown idea from The Amazing Adventures of Diet Girl. I think it'll really help keep me accountable, as well as drive home the whole "21 days to make a habit" thing.

2.) I'm going to be doing yoga every day. I've been planning on doing a lot more yoga anyway (fertility yoga, specifically, but that's for another post), but I really liked this Yoga Bikini Body workout plan from Fitsugar, and plan to incorporate that into my yoga plans. Obviously, I'm  not expecting a bikini body, but it could help me get closer! (Though I'll admit I may have to modify some things -- that balancing star pose? Not so sure that's going to be doable).

3.) I'm not going to be eating meat (well, except for one planned dinner out to celebrate Tom's new job -- I will have some chicken that I've been craving for awhile -- but that's it). This was inspired by a pin about Carrie Underwood's legs, the fact that I don't like a lot of meat, and some inner turmoil after seeing a beautiful baby bull be born the other day.
