I LOVE awards shows. When we have a house that we can entertain in, I'd love to have an awards show party (it's seriously something I've wanted to do since I was a kid). But alas, I don't currently have room, so I have to be content live-tweeting it instead. But since I can't have a party, I thought I'd blog about who I think will (and who should) win awards tonight (plus that way, if I'm right, there's proof that I called it if I don't tweet it first). To save some time though, I'm just going to keep it to the two big categories (drama and comedy).
Outstanding Drama Series
Breaking Bad
Downton Abbey
Game of Thrones
Homeland
House of Cards
Mad Men
Admittedly, I don't watch a lot of these. I fully think it SHOULD be Game of Thrones, not only because it's AMAZING, but because the Red Wedding episode was possibly one of the most heart-wrenching things to air on TV all year. But HBO series rarely get the recognition they deserve, and this year won't be an exception. I'm impressed that the Netflix series House of Cards is included, but ultimately, I think Breaking Bad will take it home. I can't tell you how many Breaking Bad posts were in my news feed after the episode a week or so ago; everyone was gobsmacked by it. That kind of buzz tends to make good things happen on awards nights. Emmy voters really love Homeland though, so I could be completely wrong.
