Life Lately - August 2015

Monday, August 31, 2015

I can't believe it's been three weeks since my last post. I had no idea that I was going to be quite as busy as I have been!

Here's what we've been up to:

-We attended Wrestling Geek Fest in Strongsville, Ohio. I am definitely not into wrestling, but Tom was a part of the convention, and I got to see our friends Joe and Kevin (both are frequent guests on our podcast), who I pretty much never get to see. We got to try some local restaurants and I had time to catch up on August's book club selection.

-I started working at my new job at the end of July, but classes officially started on the 17th. It's definitely been an adjustment getting back into the swing of teaching, and the job is very different than my last preschool job.

-I threw a birthday party for Tom. He hadn't had a birthday party in years, so I threw him a surprise little kid-style wrestling party. Lots of water balloons. Lots of fun.

-We attended a Shabbat service where my best friend since high school, Katie, had her conversion to Judaism ceremony. Since she has been working toward this goal since before we met 11 years ago, it was amazing to see it come to fruition for her!

-We are now CPR/first aid/AED certified, which means we're one step closer to becoming licensed as foster parents!

August was super busy, but I'm really excited for everything autumn holds!
