A New Chapter

Today was (sort of) my first day as a stay-at-home-mom.

I have loved my time in the early childhood education field. It was extremely rewarding, and it helped me grow a lot as a person. But after over a decade, I was getting burnt out, and I was ready for a change.

After discussing it with Tom, we decided that I would take the summer off to spend with the boys. I'm also going to be using this time to focus on building my Young Living business. When school starts back up, I'll find something new. I'm not sure what yet, but I'll figure it out.

This has been a scary, but exciting, process. This has been my life for so long. The boys have been in daycare since the second day we had them. We don't know what spending so much time together is like (and that in itself is a bit terrifying, lol).

The real test of things will come in July, when I have both boys all day. Tom was off today and will be home tomorrow, so things are still a bit off. And for the month of June, Jeffery will spend his mornings at his new school, where he is attending Kindergarten Countdown Camp (he's been very nervous about kindergarten, so we thought this would be a good way to help him get more comfortable).

My main focus at the moment is to get the house decluttered (this will hopefully be easier when I have a few hours with only one kid). After that, we will implement a summer schedule to help us maintain a sense of routine and not spend the entire summer watching cartoons and blowing bubbles on the porch.

Any tips for transitioning to SAHM life (or summer with kids!) would be greatly appreciated!
