Make Your Own Bath Salts
Wednesday, January 06, 2021A lot of people enjoy a long, relaxing soak in a tub with some bath salts. Whether that's you or a friend, whipping up a batch yourself couldn't be any easier!
You only need two things: epsom salts and essential oils! There are two ways to incorporate your oils -- you can add drops of oil directly to the salts, or you can save your empty oil bottles and let them soak in the salts! If you add drops directly, a good general guide is 7-10 drops of oil per cup of epsom salts, but it's kind of like cooking -- let your heart tell you when you're done. When I do the bottle soaking method, I usually let it sit for a couple of days to soak up as much of that plant power as possible!
The best thing about making bath salts yourself (other than saving plenty of money) is that you can customize them with scents you like or to target specific issues you may be having. Here are some oil suggestions to use; feel free to mix and match!
For muscle tension: PanAway, Peppermint, Wintergreen, Copaiba
For stress relief: Stress Away, Peace & Calming, Lavender, Joy
For bedtime: Lavender, Cedarwood, Dream Catcher, Roman Chamomile
For a spa-like experience: Eucalyptus Radiata, Rosemary, Peppermint
For shark week: Dragon Time, Sacred Mountain, Geranium, Clary Sage
Are you more of a bath or shower person?
