The Benefits of Houseplants

Wednesday, January 13, 2021

I’ve always wanted a house filled with plants. But unfortunately, I’m one of those people who kills even seemingly unkillable plants (like, my last aloe plant was just pitiful).

But in 2021, I’m attempting to get plants AND keep them alive. A daunting task, but I’m up to the challenge.

Houseplants have SO many benefits, and I want my family to be able to take advantage of that plant power.

They improve air quality. Not only do they help purify the air and help reduce dust, but they also increase the humidity, which is especially helpful in the drying winter months!

The increased oxygen plants provide can help improve your mood and reduce stress. It can also boost mental focus and energy, helping you be more productive.

Taking care of plants has therapeutic benefits, and seeing plants can even help you recover more quickly from illness!

So this year, I’m going to make sure I actually water them (that’s usually my problem — I just kind of forget about them eventually), but not *overwater* them, give them extra nourishment like eggshells, and give them some oily love with my friend Sarah’s plant spray.

If you have any tips for not killing my poor plant babies, please leave them below. I need all the help I can get!
