Hi! I'm Alex :)

I live in the Midwest with my husband, Tom, and our four furbabies: Archie (a dachshund/basset hound/blue heeler mix), Luna (a bombay cat), Clover (a guinea pig), and Egg (a calico cat). I'm a preschool teacher and a full-time student.

I'm a voracious reader (YA, particularly YA fantasy, and non-fiction books are my favorites), huge Harry Potter/Percy Jackson nerd, sandbox gamer (The Elder Scrolls FTW!), amateur writer (I participate in NaNoWriMo, and have won every year I've participated, but I have yet to fully finish a novel), and reality competition addict. I'm sarcastic, goofy, and usually a weird combination of tired and hyper. Target is my happy place, and I usually just get hot chocolate or passion tango tea at Starbucks, because none of their specialty drinks have impressed me thus far, and I generally only drink my coffee iced. I'm obsessed with genealogy, Christmas, and all things Disney. On a typical weekend, you'll find me catching up on work around the house, having game nights with Tom and our best friends, and taking photographs of dogs available for adoption at the shelter we adopted Archie from as a puppy.

Tom and I have tried for over four and a half years to have a baby, but even after several rounds of fertility drugs, nothing worked. We are currently in the process of becoming licensed as resource parents, and we hope to eventually adopt from the foster system.

I started this blog a couple of weeks after our May 2011 wedding. The original name was Bright Blue Sun, but after a month or so, I changed it to Good Girl Gone Wife. It became Bergalicious (based on a nickname of mine) in January 2014. It was time for a change. I never really thought of myself being a blogger before that, but I did have a (ridiculously emo) Xanga and a LiveJournal in high school, both of which I wrote on quite often.

 Thanks for stopping by!
